Scaffolding in Bodmin
Bodmin sits at the heart of the county, where the A30 and A38 meet. Solid stone terraces, former county-town civic buildings and fast-growing estates on the edge of the moor keep our crews busy here and in Lanivet, Lostwithiel and Wadebridge.
Reached from our Carnon Downs yard via the A30.
The buildings we scaffold around Bodmin
The centre of Bodmin is built from local stone and slate: long terraces climbing away from Fore Street, chapels, and the big institutional buildings left from its county-town days. Out towards Lanivet and the moor edge there are farmhouses and barn conversions, while the newer estates around the town carry concrete tile roofs and plenty of solar. Lostwithiel brings older townhouses on narrow streets, and Wadebridge a mix of Victorian terraces and modern builds. Re-roofs, chimney repairs, render and repaint jobs and solar access make up most of our work across the area.
Weather, height and access
Bodmin sits higher than most Cornish towns and catches the wind off the moor, so wind exposure matters when we plan ties and sheeting. Every scaffold is built to a TG20:21 design worked out for the site. Many terraces rise steeply from the road, which means stepped base lifts and careful levelling on sloping pavements. Where a street is too tight for the wagon we plan a barrowed rear access at the survey, so nothing comes as a surprise on the day.
How a Bodmin job runs
We carry our own stock from the yard at Carnon Downs, so we are not waiting on hired kit. After the survey you get a written assessment within 24 hours, and most jobs are up 5 to 7 working days after you accept. Our CISRS-qualified crews hand over with a scaff-tag, we inspect every seven days while the scaffold is up, and we carry £5m public liability cover. We are CHAS accredited and rated 5.0 on Google.
