Extension & loft scaffolding in Cornwall
Phased scaffolding for extensions and loft conversions across Cornwall and Devon — bricklaying lifts, roof-edge protection and dormer access, sequenced around the building schedule.
What the service involves
An extension needs the scaffold to grow with the build: a low lift for the brickies at DPC, a second lift at wall-plate, and a top lift at eaves once the roof structure is going on. A loft conversion usually needs a full-perimeter rig to eaves plus a dormer platform once the roof is opened up — with tarpaulins and temporary roofing where the property has to stay watertight for the occupants. We plan the lifts around the trades on your programme so no one is waiting on us to move a board.
Why the Tubix approach fits extension & loft work
Builders lose margin to adaptations mid-build — an extra lift, a bridge over a new opening, a bay window that appears in the drawings after the scaffold went up. Because we hold our own, continually expanding stock of new, fully compliant BS EN 12811 / BS 1139 tube, fittings and boards at our Carnon Downs yard, adaptations are usually next-day rather than next-week. Every design is TG20:21-compliant with bespoke calculations where geometry demands them; every crew is CISRS-qualified; every job is inspected weekly and photographed. RAMS and design go on your CDM file at drop, so building control and the client's insurer see a fully-documented scaffold from day one.
Typical Cornwall use case
A side-return extension and rear dormer loft on a Truro semi runs over four months across four trades. We phase the scaffold: brickies' lifts first, roof lift and dormer platform second, and struck in the final week once render and windows are signed off — one written assessment up front, one adaptation midway, and one handover pack at the end.
