Scaffolding in Hayle
Hayle brings estuary weather, sand-blasted elevations and the North Quay redevelopment. Coastal exposure changes how we tie, sheet and inspect a scaffold here.

The building stock we work on in Hayle
Hayle splits between the historic Foundry and Copperhouse conservation areas — granite quays, listed Harvey's-era warehousing and terraces along Foundry Square and Fore Street — and the newer coastal housing at Riviere Towans, Phillack and around Loggans. On the harbour side we regularly work around North Quay's phased redevelopment: pedestrian protection, fully-sheeted elevations and staged birdcages for commercial fit-outs. On the residential side, salt-weathered render, timber cladding and standing-seam metal roofs are common, and every one of them needs a scaffold that can sit through a genuine sou'westerly.
Terrain and access in Hayle
The estuary and dune systems mean two things: soft, saline ground on the coast side that always gets sole boards and stainless-friendly fittings, and prevailing winds that raise the tie count above the TG20:21 minimum whenever we sheet an elevation. Traffic access is easy on the newer estates but tight on Fore Street and around the causeway; we programme tighter-street jobs for early-morning drops and coordinate with the local traders where needed.
Typical jobs and turnaround
Roof re-slates on Foundry terraces, EWI render rigs on 1970s coastal bungalows, PV installs at Phillack and Loggans, and phased commercial scaffolds along the harbour redevelopment. Because Hayle exposure is unforgiving, our weekly statutory inspection photos matter here — clients get a documented record that the scaffold held through named storms. Written assessment inside 24 hours; erection typically 5–7 working days.
