    Scaffolding in Helston

Helston is the gateway to the Lizard — historic Coinagehall Street, a wide mix of cob, granite and rendered stock, and a rural catchment reaching down to Mullion, Porthleven and Culdrose.

≈13 miles from the Carnon Downs yard via the A394.

The building stock we work on in Helston

The town centre is defined by Coinagehall Street, Meneage Street and Wendron Street — Georgian and Victorian granite frontages, listed pubs and civic buildings, and a conservation area covering most of the historic core. Away from the centre, Helston sprawls into 1960s–90s estates at Nansloe, Furry Way and around the Culdrose approach, where straightforward domestic scaffolds and PV installs dominate. The wider Lizard catchment adds thatched and cob cottages at Cury, Mullion and Cadgwith — heritage-sensitive scaffolding with padded contacts and reveal ties rather than drilled fixings.

    Terrain and access in Helston

Helston itself is manageable on wagon access, but the Lizard catchment is single-track lane country. On jobs south of the town we drop earlier in the day, sometimes offload at a nearby lay-by and barrow the last section in. Coastal-facing properties at Mullion, Porthleven and Coverack take genuine Atlantic exposure, so we increase the tie plan and check base plates on soft ground carefully. The Furry Dance in May is one of the few dates we plan around — no drops or strikes on the day itself along the route.

    Typical jobs and turnaround

Thatched-cottage re-thatch scaffolds with fire-resistant sheeting, coastal render rigs, listed shopfront repair scaffolds on Coinagehall Street, chimney work on granite terraces, and PV installs on the estates. Written assessment inside 24 hours; erection 5–7 working days from acceptance.
